Tony Simone is in his 40th year of teaching and coaching baseball. Most of that time was spent at Miami-Dade Community College, Miami, Florida, which has a reputation for its premier collegiate baseball program. More notable of the players from Miami-Dade that have played in the Major Leagues are former New York Yankees Bucky Dent and Mickey Rivers, and Mike Piazza of the New York Mets.

Tony's baseball career gave him the opportunity to coach internationally. He considers the highlights of this international experience to have occurred in Italy where he served as representative of the United States Baseball Federation as consultant and more recently as co-director of the Italian Baseball Youth Camp and head coach of Camp Federali.

In June of 2003, Coach Simone and Coach Manny Montrana hosted and conducted a clinic for a delegation of Italian baseball coaches at St. Thomas University in Miami.
